Architect Lujac Desautel designs luxury glass yacht
Take a look at the bold new yacht design by architect and designer, Lujac Desautel. Named 'Salt' the luxury yacht uses glass and a completely reimagined system of unfolding elements to keep passengers engaged with the ocean views at all times…
Freelance architect and yacht designer Lujac Desautel, has designed a stunning new innovative and uber modern yacht that encourages its passengers to engage with the surrounding environment. He has called it – Salt. This is a follow up to the 2014 Boat International Media 'Young Designer of the Year' nominated design, Glass.
The 55 metre framework that Desautel has designed draws the focus of the living and entertaining quarters down to sea level. When the vessel is anchored (and the waters are not too rough) the hull of the boat is effectively able to unfold, lowering a deck onto the water, and stairs in and out of the sea.
When Salt is sailing, passengers can enjoy virtually uninterrupted panoramic views from the glass cabin on the main deck, which also has its own roof top terrace. There are a total of three dining rooms on board and five luxury sleeper cabins. Desautel says that his intention was to give passengers an honest and transparent life aboard.
